The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) hosted the "Capacity Development Workshop on Soil Carbon Visualization" from October 1 to 4, 2024, in Tsukuba, Japan. Dr. Szu-Meng Wu, the Director of our department, was invited to participate. The workshop attendees included experts and practitioners from various APO member countries. The main theme was to introduce and test soil carbon visualization models, with participants collaborating to evaluate model performance. The event featured technical lectures, field visits, and case study presentations.

The workshop aimed to enhance member countries' capabilities in soil carbon visualization technologies and promote the development of climate-smart agriculture. Soil carbon visualization allows precise quantification and monitoring of soil carbon content, facilitating effective agricultural carbon management strategies and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
